I absolutely love Indian food, but it just is not the same without Mango Achar. Mango Achar is an explosion of fresh and fragrant and breaks the spicy richness of any curry.
I love it so much I can just eat it out of the jar. Also goes well as a substitute for Brantson pickle or Piccalilli to give to give a more eastern flavour.
It is really easy to make and if you make a kilo use 200ml honey bottles which will give you at least 4-5 full bottles to place in the pantry cupboard.
I have also started giving them as gifts and people love it!
THE SECRET: Your mangoes must still be hard and green. Soft, ripe mangoes will just turn into a mush!
