I try to re-use as much produce as I possibly can. Many recipes call for fresh vanilla seeds, directly from the pod. So next time you scrape out the seeds, don’t just toss out the peel. You can put it in a zip lock bag and freeze until you have collected 4 or 5 peels. When you have, you can make your own vanilla sugar.
This sugar is really versatile and you can use it in many deserts.
